Safeguarding
Every pupil at a NISFA competition is there as a pupil of their school. Safeguarding sits with the school, and we work to the same standard at our events.
Our commitments
- A designated safeguarding lead is named each season and is contactable during competitions.
- Referees, squad staff and volunteers working with pupils are vetted through Access NI.
- International squads travel with teachers and a designated safeguarding lead. Overnight arrangements are set out for parents before departure.
- Concerns raised at a NISFA event are recorded, passed to the pupil's school and, where needed, to the statutory authorities.
- Photography at finals is by school agreement. Images of a pupil are removed on request from the school or parent.
Raising a concern
If something happens at a NISFA competition, tell the teacher in charge of your child's team first. They can escalate to us the same day. Anything urgent should go straight to the school's designated teacher or to the statutory services.
